don't forget!

Please continue to pray about Eric's promotion. Even Sushi has found a way to remember. Eric's first big interview went well. We're hoping that the rest of the summer will only show how ready he is.

family lunch at the park

We enjoyed a great family lunch at Harkness. When we bring the cat, we don't go to the beach, just the gardens and park.

Our little guy watching the squirrels and smelling the food. Sushi loves going to the park. The vet suggested that we take him out once a week to improve his behavior and it seems to be working. He will never be an outdoor kitty (he would rather sit on the chair than in the grass).

Cheeseburgers, toasted bread, and grilled corn.

crafty saturday

a quick trip to the craft store this morning brought me this lovely, tissue paper rainbow project. it took me hours and I'm not sure how they expect children to do this, but I had a great time.

my bandana boys

Bandana:  a large often colorfully patterned handkerchief
Example: Bandanas are a great way to keep your hair off of your face.
Bandanas (if worn properly) can make you a superhero

an unexpected day off

What do you do if you were scheduled to work, but don't have to go in?
Play Guitar Hero of course.
(thank you Roy & Kelly)

catching up

It is hard to believe that we haven't been to this space in over a month.

We are in good health. And starting a beautiful summer in Connecticut.

On a tough day in the office, I found a new (silver, air bubble envelope) hat. Not only did it cheer me up the rest of the afternoon, everyone was in stitches. I think it will end up on the Christmas party slideshow. I've been working from home on Fridays, which has been really wonderful. I get a break from the office and catch up on large projects. Even in this tough economy, our business is booming. Which translates into - being a very busy girl.

Eric has been very busy at Starbucks. He had a great interview last week. We are hoping that his big promotion is just around the corner. He has organized two large events that are happening soon. Tomorrow is the big 'coffee and music' show at the store. The local favorite - Recur Occurrence - will  be playing and so will other talented musicians. So if you are in the area, stop by the new Groton Starbucks for great tunes and drinks!
Even when he isn't working, his coworkers and past trainees all love him (and leave him notes on his drinks)

(the above photo is from a Banana Republic store.)

We have two large trips planned for the end of the summer (Joyce Meyer conference and a birthday trip to Michigan). Until then, we'll be at the beach, working, and catching up with you all!

Baptism

A few Sundays ago, we had three baptisms at church. I was one of them.

We gathered outside of the church at the end of service. It was a hot day and everyone stayed to be a part of this.

We shared our testimonies and the events that led us to this point in our lives. All three stories were emotional. And beautiful.

(even though it was 100 degrees outside, the water was colder than I expected. it took me a moment to get used to it)

All three of us wet. They all joked that we were lucky to get cooled off on the hot afternoon. They hugged us even though we were soaking wet. There were so many encouraging words shared - "your misery will be your ministry" and "the Lord really wanted you"
